A small red mangrove looks so small against the amazing night sky of the Milky Way shining bright.
How I Got the Shot: After researching the Milky Way location and availability, I had a window of opportunity to paddle the canoe out to a location where I photograph often to capture it above the beautiful wetland prairie scene. Three hours before sunrise, I paddled about 1 mile to a specific location where several small mangroves stood in the water. I located the MIlky Way using a starview app on my phone and stationed the canoe and set up the tripod in front of a small mangrove tree with the Milky Way above. From there, I was able to take several photos. I used my headlamp to shed light on the mangrove. The bright area of the sky on the left are the lights of Miami, approximately 70 miles away.
