I come to my workshops with 25 years of teaching experience at a university, combined with over 17 years of nature photography. My workshop approach is to keep it simple and design it for the individual novice or intermediate-level nature photographer's creative and technical goals. This is why I allow no more than two students to a workshop. Examples of topics that can be addressed include:
- Correct exposure for white and dark birds
- Applying filters and camera settings for long exposure dreamy waterscapes
- Manual camera settings for correct exposure and depth of field
- Creative lighting and composition
- Multiple exposures for waterscape or landscape shots
- Approaching birds and other wildlife
You will come away with several new field techniques, a more sophisticated understanding of your camera to maximize its potential, a deeper understanding of lighting and composition, and productive in-field experiences that will carry over into your photography forever.
In-field workshops are individualized, scheduled at a mutually agreed upon time, and include no more than one or two persons. Typical locations include Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Fakahatchee Strand, Tamiami Trail, Corkscrew Swamp or city/county parks & gardens.
Cost for one person is $350 for half day, $550 for full day (sunup to sundown).
Cost for two persons is $225 each for half day, $375 each for full day.
Price includes post-workshop image critiques.

Read what workshop participants are saying about my workshops:
"Connie focuses on the workshop participant totally – she does not bring her own camera or spend any time getting her own shots. Her singular focus on the participant(s) is a great way to organize her workshops and adds a lot of value." R. and B. Griffin
"Very easy to get along with; extremely knowledgable, patient and understanding of student's faults and lack of knowledge". Z-C Mendez
"Connie was very attentive and gave great instruction, She took the time to understand what I wanted to do with my photography and helped me learn the necessary skills. She was very encouraging and gave me the confidence to pursue nature photography. I can't wait to come back!!" N Logan
"The instructor knows the area and where to find birds. She took the time to teach us new skills, like manual exposure settings. I recommend Constance's workshops , you'll learn alot!" J. and D. Michaels
