Intentional-camera-movement technique is used to blur the image of red mangrove leaves and propagules
How I Got the Shot: One day in my canoe, I was casually examining the red mangroves. I decided to try something different to photograph them. I anchored the canoe close to the trees. Propagules (seedlings that grow in length and appear like long cigars) were abundant among the thick leaves and I found this to be so attractive with the various shapes and the shades of green and yellow. I set my camera exposure and focused in on a small area of the trees. I then hit the shutter button and at the same time, moved my camera vertically. This may seem simple enough but to capture just the right amount of blur and compose it well, it takes dozens of shots to capture one ideally.
