A spotted ray creates interesting circular patterns in the waters of Biscayne Bay
How I Got this Shot: I love telling about my encounters with animals that I photograph! I was paddling my canoe on Biscayne Bay, mostly looking for birds. As the morning wore on, the tides rolled in making bird photography impossible. So I began paddling leisurely, enjoying the scenery when I noticed some water movement nearby. As I watched closely, I could tell it was a ray. When feeding, they often bring their pectoral fins out of the water, such as in this image. It allowed me to approach closely while it continued feeding and I photographed. If you like this shot, take a look at Spotted Ray Abstract 1 and 2 images in the Art in Nature "In the Wilderness" gallery.
